The course helps develop an understanding of gender, sexual orientation, systemic and personal sources of marginalisation of queer identities, and how to embody ethical principles and professional codes of conduct in your work and practice.

About the event
This 18 hour course helps participants identify and dismantle heteronormative biases as psychologists (researcher, clinician, academic, therapist). Modules help develop an understanding of gender, sexual orientation, systemic and personal sources of marginalisation of queer identities. Participants will be able to embody the professional codes and standards of ethics into their vocational roles when working with Queer individuals. This is not a counseling course.
- Multimodal pedagogy using Activities, discussions, documentary, and case studies etc.
- Assessments per module: subjective and objective testing
- Facilated by practitioners from the field and psychology academicians

Understanding Gender: Theoretical Perspectives on Gender, Developing Gender Identity, Undoing Heteronormative perspectives

Developing cultural competence as a Queer Affirmative Psychologist.
