Designation: Mental Health Advocate & Psychology Intern

Minimum Duration: 3 months (renewable contract)

Location:  This is a remote opportunity

Job Description

Essential responsibilities

  • Conduct, transcribe and publish structured interviews with different stakeholders for research and MHA projects

  • Facilitate focus group discussions or panelled discussions with professionals from the field

  • Assist with design and delivery of informational sessions related to policy, mental health practice, and research tailored to different audiences 

  • Strategize awareness, instructional and de-stigmatization programmes

  • Engage in outreach activities to engage potential stakeholders, clients, and participant organisations

  • Write project reports/executive summaries, and popular press/magazine articles 

  • Assist with translation, data collection with ongoing research and psychometric and screening projects

  • Assist Editorial Team with Scripting, transcribing and video editing for ongoing projects

Qualifications:

Bachelors (Psychology, Economics, Sociology, Anthropology) or

Masters (Business Administration -HRM or Organisational Psychology)

Necessary Competencies & Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

  • Project & Team management, Productivity Tracking 

  • Excellent presentation and engagement skills

  • Proficient in written and spoken English for Reports, Executive Summaries, Documentation, Articles

  • Willing and able to learn on the job essential technical, copywriting, research skills 

  • Accountable, engages in open communication, ethical, and able to maintain participant confidentiality

Desired Competencies

  • Previous experience in videography, transcriptions, 

  • Past experience working in the areas in mental health NGOs, community based or media organizations

  • Background knowledge of the academic research and mental health industry 

  • Problem solving skills, Creativity, Time management
